Thanks to Avery Dennison for sponsoring today’s post. Avery Dennison is a leader in providing pressure-sensitive adhesive labels to the global retail environment.
Becky and I are redecorating a few rooms in our house. We started in our living room and have worked our way around each room in our house. Today I wanted to share our family room photos with you… and a funny story.
First off – this is the new area in our family room:
While we love the new room, I didn’t love the fact that the little metal basket had a sticky label on it. When I pulled the label off, I was left with residue and it looked terrible. It took me almost 40 minutes to sit and pull the rest of the paper and residue off.
As if that wasn’t bad enough – it happened again with this bike (right on the basket part). (We’re still trying to find things to fill the shelves… hopefully things with Avery Dennison removable labels so they come off easily!)
Avery Dennison recently conducted a survey about removable labels (ex. the sticker on a picture frame) and results revealed that 8 out of 10 consumers have had difficulty removing labels on a variety of products. The leading product categories in which consumers experienced the most frustration were kitchen items, books and pictures frames. I find that mirrors are a huge culprit in our house, too.
Tell me I’m not alone in this… has this happened to you? Have you come across a label that either won’t peel off or leaves a sticky glue-like substance when it finally does?
Well…. at least you can win a $50 gift card for your trouble! Avery Dennison is inviting anyone to share a frustrating label removal experience and enter the company’s #StickySituation Sweepstakes. The winner will win a $50 gift card! Hopefully the string of luck will continue and we can have some Avery Dennison removable labels that are easy to remove:
From now through August 31st, Avery Dennison will be launching its #StickySituation Sweepstakes on Facebook. Participants will be asked to submit a brief description of a #StickySituation they have encountered with a not-so-removable label, like this:
Each week in August, a new winner will be selected to receive a $50 gift card. Enter here.
Here’s to $50 gift card and removable labels that don’t frustrate us! It doesn’t have to be frustrating… brands can use the right label for the right application for easier-to-remove labels, with correct removable adhesives.
Now I’m off to try to deal with another #StickySituation (look at the mirror- the third triangle in from the left, right above the squares. Yep… that’s where the label was.)
Wish me luck!
Ps- good luck to you, too, with the #StickySituation sweepstakes.
