Fall is here and that means that winter is next. What does that mean? It means that all of the bikes, sports equipment and things that we won’t be using for the winter.
First, clean all bikes. I say this because they are full of grease when we are done using them for the season. Grab your Spray Nine and a large bristle brush. Unleash a triple threat on the toughest mess: it’s tough on grime, grease and germs.
Clean the tubing first, using the tapered end of the brush to clean it well. Clean the bottom bracket and under the seat. Clean the wheels (Spray Nine handles the muddiest messes, so don’t worry about if) Spray it off with a hose at the end, for a shiny clean bike.
Second, clean out the gutters. If you don’t clean out the leaves, the water will back up and freeze. This will lead to the water getting under your shingles. Or, the gutters could end up pulling off of the house, because when the water freezes, the weight pulls it off of the house.
Third, clean your siding. Use the Spray Nine and clean it well. Spray Nine Heavy Duty is tough enough for all outdoor cleaning challenges, so it can clean your siding to look great. It cleans outdoor messes with maximum results and minimum effort. The best way that we have found to clean the siding is to do it divide your siding into 10-foot sections. Scrub each section using a soft-bristled brush attached to a long handle and really clean it well.
To prevent streaking, start at the bottom and work your way towards the top of the house. Be sure to rinse off the cleaning solution as your go.
Fourth, clean your outdoor garbage cans. It breaks down grease and handles the toughest jobs. I spray the inside of the garbage cans and recycling cans every year. They sit outside, but they still need to be clean enough to be near the house.
Five, clean your porch furniture and then cover it for the season. I clean the cushions, clean the base of the tables and the chairs with Spray Nine and clean under the cushions. I cover it with a vinyl cover and bring the pillows inside for the winter.
