I wanted to share these 10 reasons dads are so tired because I know we all can relate.
10). Dad’s drive on ALL the family trips (at least in this family). As you notice, I am not in the picture in this one. Thats right… driver!
9). Dads are their wrestling partners, their ponies, their piggy back givers… No matter how big or small, we are the ultimate tickle monster.
8). Dad’s are always the volunteers. It’s no sooner that someone says they need help that I hear my wife’s little voice say… “My husband can help you with that… Right, Mic?” (she’s right- I’m always willing to help)
7). If I wake up in the middle of the night to help with the kids, I just drag the next day. I feel like I’ve been up all night. My wife, on the other hand, will literally be up all night helping the kids and she will be completely normal the following day- she will have the energy of someone that just had a full nights sleep.
6). I’m the “DIYer” of the family. I refinish tables and make desks. I work on garages and “build race cars” (according to my 4 year old, Ethan).
5). We are the keepers of the car, the changers of the oil, the cutters of the grass. We take on any job: big or small. We refuse to call a repair man until we try to fix it first.
4). We are the “Kings of the Camp Fire.” We will plan a perfect night, in the dead of summer, in the back yard. We will set up the tents and make a camp fire (in the 95 degree summer heat) just to make S’mores. Then when it is time for bed, all the kids say: ” Can we sleep inside? Its too hot out here!”
3). We are the extreme worriers, asking our wives “Are you there yet? Are the doors locked? What time did you leave? What time will you get there? What time does the GPS say you will get there? Is your gas tank filled?”
2). We are great at multi-tasking! We can push three kids, on three different swings, all at the same time. Let’s not forget about racing down the slide. It wears me out just thinking about it!
1). We love our kids with everything that we have. Mothers and Fathers are no different in this- We ALL love our kids with everything that we have and more. We give until we can give no more (but even then we still don’t stop). We lend a helping hand and when we are done, we use that hand to give them a pat on the back.
