I have always liked the quote: “Be Smart, Eat Smart.” Our family of six is always looking for ways that we can eat healthy and quickly. I say quickly because with 4 kids, I am always doing something and always on the run. Between dropping the kids off at 3 different schools, coaching several different sports, and just being Dad, it’s really a rare occasion when I get time to relax and have a snack forget about the time to prepare one!
Over the past year, I have been really trying hard to make healthier decisions. I have been making more efforts to go to the gym and more important to eat better. In the past I would go to the gym all the time, but I wasn’t reaching the results I wanted. I was adding muscle, but I was not cutting down the fat and I was not gaining the energy I need to keep up with my family.
Now, I have have had to make some changes over the year. I would have to say that about 80% of my meals & snacks are eating while I am on the go, pretty much everything except dinner. That’s the honest truth! I usually try to grab things that are healthy and will help keep me full, usually some fruit or a quick source of protein.
However, If I am not prepared, then I will be tempted to swing through one of the many fast-food places that I pass along the way when I am out. So I try to keep things in my truck to help, items like PowerBar Clean Whey Protein Bars. When it comes to protein bars, I am pretty picky. Just in case I forgot to mention it.
Now, I have been eating PowerBars since I was a kid. My aunt was big into mountain biking, and when my brother and I would stay with her in the mountains, she always had a huge stash of them. So, I know with the new PowerBar Clean Whey Protein Bars, I am getting great nutrition with a cleaner label, including no artificial sweeteners, colors or flavors.
If I am leaving the gym or a practice and then have to run some errands, I can still get in my post workout meal replacement. The new bars are packed full of high quality protein, 20g to be exact. It is a blend of whey protein isolate that quickly repairs the muscles and milk protein isolate aids in long lasting energy. Along with being a high protein alternative, it’s also low in net carbs and only contains 2g of sugar. For me, that is what I am looking for. High protein and low sugar/carbs.
While nutrition is a huge part to any great diet, it’s not the only thing that matters. Especially when it comes to choosing protein bars. Great food, can also taste great. PowerBar Clean Whey Protein Bars come in several great flavors, including Cookies and Cream, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and my personal favorite, White Fudge Raspberry
During National Fitness Month, PowerBar can help with their full line of protein packed products. There is no better time than right now to help re-jump-start your 2017 fitness goals.
