I want to thank Cub Cadet for sponsoring this post and allowing me to use and review their new 100% electric Enduro Series XT1 LT42E mower.
When it comes to electric mowers, Cub Cadet does not disappoint. With this great new electric design, including the new Cub Cadet blue accent color, it has a more rigorous look without changing the iconic Cub Cadet yellow look that we all know and love.
Electric is no longer a fad, it is here to stay. So, let’s take a look at this beautiful machine.
One of the biggest features is that this mower is 100% electric, and 0% compromise to its gas counterpart. The electric lineup meets the same rigorous standard for performance, power, and durability that you’ll find with any Cub Cadet equipment.
100% Electric
Being 100% electric means that there is no need for gas, messy oil changes, changing of spark plugs, belts, or pulley maintenance. The transmission is also located on the deck of the machine and is also fully electric. No shifting required. Just push the pedal and go!
The Enduro XT1 now comes with a new magnetic key that is powered by two large-format Lithium-ion batteries that are located under the hood. It produces 56 Volt MAX, 60AH of power, and the design and location are meant for a “hands-off approach.” Cub Cadet redesigned the power connection, switching over to an Anderson connector (like that of an electric car).
The mower can be charged using a standard 110-Volt outlet and the battery charge can mow up to two acres, or 1.5 hours, on a single charge without power fade.
The new battery does not have any charge memory.
This allows you to simply plug it in and walk away until you are ready to use it. You don’t have to worry about the Lithium-ion battery overcharging because it uses CAM communication Technology.
This technology simply stops sending power from the charging station to the battery once it is fully charged- just like an electric car or a handheld power tool. The new battery also eliminates waiting until it is fully charged to use it. If you want a 25% battery charge, just charge it for about an hour. This will not compromise the battery or the mower performance.
More Durable & Reliable
Cub Cadet also redesigned the deck motors which make it more durable and reliable. Cutting is powered by two brushless motors that deliver power to a 13-gauge, 42-inch, twin blade deck with side discharge. The new Enduro also offers easy deck removal. It can easily be released with 3 quick release pins.
Even with the increased motor power, the Enduro XT1 is still quieter than its gas counterparts and has zero emissions. It is up to 64% quieter during operation, with no exhaust, carbon monoxide, or unburned hydrocarbons from the onboard source of power for a cleaner, zero-emission ride.
Brighter Lights
Since the majority of the sound produced by the Enduro XT1 comes from the cutting deck, this means you can use the mower almost any time of day or night to do yard work. This mower also comes standard with brighter LED lights and has an on/off switch to give the driver full control of when to turn the lights on or off.
When it comes to lights, Cub Cadet has also redesigned the control panel. Not only are the buttons larger than the previous models, but all the control buttons have LED light bars around each button. The Main view panel has also been designed to ensure full visibility in low light or in full sunlight. The Enduro XT1 also comes standard with cruise control and any service prompts will show up when needed on the display screen, along with the remaining battery percentage.
Comfort & Convenience
Located under the control panel are two USB charging ports. These come in handy when you need to charge devices, like your phone while you are mowing the yard or when you are hanging out in the garage.
The new Enduro XT1 is also outfitted with a premium 15-inch cut-and-sew seat that is color formatted with the Cub Cadet blue accents. It offers a 10-degree slide slope and makes it a great seat for a wide range of users.
The Enduro XT1 mower is also backed by a 3-year limited residential and 4-year limited battery warranty, plus access to an experienced national dealer network. Cub Cadet also offers many attachments and accessories to help you power through any job. Each attachment is designed to add versatility to your electric mower.

Nice write up. I have some interesting questions that are unanswered. Maybe you can help…..
How do you clean collected grass and debris build up under the deck?
Can the deck get wet from wet grass or a mist? (not all out rain which Would be bad…right?…Priblem)
I’m mostly concerned about cleaning the deck as my cutting area is rather dry and kicks up a lot of ground dust and pollen.
