Its official…Fall is here.
It is my favorite time of the year for so many reasons, but the number one reason is that the weather is finally starting to cool off. The air has a different fragrance to it also. The smell of fallen leaves and fresh cut grass.
Now that the weather is cooling off, we take advantage of it and spend a lot of our days outside. The kids help Becky and I rake the leaves that fall off the trees in the back yard (well we do that part 🙂 just to make big piles so they can jump in them.
They like to build forts in the woods with what ever they can get their hands on. Usually some old scrap pieces of wood I have in the garage, but today they decided to decorate it with some old Halloween decorations. It looked pretty awesome and just perfect for the season. They even had an old plastic pumpkin sitting outside the door.
Becky and I encourage the kids to use their imagination. If it makes the back yard a mess…we will just clean it up, no big deal. Albert Einstein once said…
We believe this is so true when it come to kids. A creative imagination will keep them busy for hours. With our kids, especially Beau (8), it usually leads to him coming up with some sort of invention.
We are always looking projects and for ideas to keep the kids imagination running. We look for things that we can do together and you can Build-it-yourself. One of the things we recently found was from the makers of the Bose Speakers. They created the BOSEbuild Speaker Cube that is perfect for kids that like to create the Build-it-yourself projects.
One of the best parts is that is has an instructional app that you download to a phone or tablet. The app allows you to control the Speaker Cube since it is bluetooth activated. The first part of the project guides you on how a speaker works with magnets and coils. You even make a mini paper speaker, which the kids will love. Ours still play with it today and even like to show their friends how it works.
My favorite part is the actual Speaker Cube. It is a great sounding bluetooth speaker, but you Build-it-yourself. You get to do everything! Make the walls, add the magnet, an choose a custom decorative side panel to go on the Speaker Cube. The lights also some in handy as a nightlight, since it can be adjusted to just about any custom color and you can control the intensity. Beau likes to keep it in his room 🙂
The BOSEbuild Speaker Cube not only looks cool with the changeable led lights, but it sounds great. I even use ours out in the garage to listen to my favorite football team. I won’t tell you who it is, but I put the Speaker Cube on my BLACK work bench and change the color of GOLD.
This Fall, we are planning on using it for our family gatherings. We will use it on Sundays during the football games as usual, but we will also have it ready for Trick-or-Treaters on Halloween.
Getting your kids imaginations can be hard at times, but BOSEbuild can definitely help with that. Leave me a comment other ways you can keep your kids creative and how you help your kids discover the world around them?
