Last minute DIY Halloween costumes made from Amazon Prime smile boxes

When you have as many Amazon smile boxes in your garage as we do, you use them to create a BOXtume! Today, we’re sharing our simple Juice Box Boxtume!

What is a Boxtume?

Boxtumes are creative costumes made at home using Amazon smile boxes and crafting supplies that you already have around the house. While we love to use our Smile boxes for our boxtumes, we have also used them to craft other custom Halloween items. Our kids like to use them to make DIY treat containers, haunted house decor (they turn our garage into a haunted house), mini haunted houses for their figurines, and even masks.

Our Son’s Boxtume Idea:

Our second son is the most artistic, creative child, and a store-bought costume wasn’t going to cut it this year. No… he wanted something that we could make: something he could create that was unlike anyone else’s costume. I was happy to help him because it’s amazing to watch his mind work! He wanted to use the boxes from Amazon to make his boxtume of a Juice Box.

WHAT YOU NEED:

Two Amazon smile boxes (if you are like me, you will have a few in your garage… we are always ordering from Amazon Prime, and we always save the boxes for our kids!)
Paint (we used primer & paint)
Tape
Poster Board
Cut-Out letters & Apple shapes (we printed these out)
Hot Glue

DIRECTIONS:

1- Stack two boxes on top of each other (Cut the flaps off where they meet so they allow a child to fit into the box, from top to bottom).

Next, Cut two holes for arms and another one for the head.

Paint the box.

After the paint was dry, we added the apples & letters (you can glue or table these onto the box)

Lastly, add the straw. The straw is made from posterboard rolled up. Glue it to the top of the box.

Once it is dry, you are ready to try it on!
