Our kids love to ride their bikes or scooters, so this kid scooter hack was fun, super easy and they loved it.
It was simple. I took a plastic bag and taped it to the front of the scooter. The scooter actually came with a zipper bag, but it was bulky, not see through and the kids had a hard time zipping and unzipping it. Plus, it fit only a few small things, like a flower or two.
I took a bag and let the kids fill it with whatever they wanted. They took their little zhu-zhu pets and then they gathered “food” for them along the way (grass, flowers, twigs). They also picked up rocks to add to their rock collection.
Here is our son with his best friend, after they had found fun things on their walk and filled up their “collections”
Sometimes, just doing small things like this makes a big impact on your kids – it just shows them that you care, not to mention that they think you are a genius, but that’s neither here nor there!
A few more things you can put in your bag:
- Glitter (Our daughter likes to take a “frozen” walk around the cul-de-sac and drop glitter.
- Food for ducks (when we go to my in-laws house on the lake, this is the perfect way to store bread for the ducks)
- Snacks for themselves. If you are going to be going to a park or playground, a snack or drink in their little bags is a great idea.
- Pencil and a notepad to keep track of what they find.
