This week, we took our family to Red Lobster for the Endless Shrimp. I’ve been craving seafood for weeks now, so we finally found a time and went for it. Good choice, Mickey… good choice. At Red Lobster, Endless Shrimp is the number one guest-requested event. I think it is so popular because you don’t have to pick just one sauce – you eat as much shrimp as you want, however you want it, and you can even mix-and-match different preparations.
Here are my 5 tips for you to remember when you go in for the Endless Shrimp
1- Order the opposite of your wife. There are 5 shrimp recipes to choose from and you start with two. I would suggest starting with the opposite two of your wife, because chances are she is going to see one of yours and ask you to switch with her. Not to worry- we had all 5 and they are ALL good! My favorite was the Pineapple Habanero Coconut Bites- (Coconut shrimp bites tossed in pineapple habanero sauce) and Becky’s favorite was the Garlic Shrimp Scampi (Oven-broiled shrimp in garlic, white wine and butter)
2- Try the Seaside Shandy or Angry Lobster beer-based cocktail with your meal. They pair perfectly with the Endless Shrimp dishes.
3- Don’t eat the biscuits. They will fill you up, because they are so good that you won’t be able to stop eating them (which means you will eat LESS shrimp than you hope to!). Ok- go ahead… try to stop at just one… or two.
4- Remember to take your glass home if you order one of the beer-based cocktails. (Glasses are sold with the purchase of a cocktail or can be purchased separately.)
5- If you have kids that might be getting to be too old for the kids menu, chances are they will be able to eat a good bit of the Endless Shrimp. Our son was able to try (and finish) all five of his own order of Endless Shrimp!
ps- During Endless Shrimp at Red Lobster, use the hashtag #EndlessReasonsContest on social media to share your reasons for loving Endless Shrimp and be entered to win daily prizes throughout the event.
